During a recent TV interview, when President Obama was asked about the prospects of victory in Afghanistan, he replied that it would not be victory like in World War II, with "Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur." In reality, it was not Emperor Hirohito who surrendered on the battleship Missouri. American troops were already occupying Japan before Hirohito met General Douglas MacArthur for the first time.

This is not the first betrayal of his ignorance by Obama, nor the first overlooked by the media. Moreover, ignorance by itself is not nearly as bad as charging full steam ahead, pretending to know. Barack Obama is doing that on a lot of issues, not just history or a local police incident in Massachusetts.

During the 2008 campaign, it was painfully obvious that BO had no real experience to draw on in order to be a good President. Never governed, very limited time as a senator, most of which was absorbed on the campaign trail.

Of course, his platform was one of change, "out with the old, in with the new" approach, which he used to attack McCain. Of course another obvious fact was that McCain actually did have the experience to draw from, but he was painted as too old, which of course is age discrimination, but we can look at that later.

This was not a racial attack, or even some unwarranted slam against BO for personal reasons or anything of that nature.

This was (and unfortunately is) just a plain fact. His limited real experience in government has hurt his ability to be a good President. And, on top of that, his choices with whom to surround himself as hos closest and most trusted aides have been poor at best.

Like him or not, this all plays into a very poor position we now have in the USA relative to our leadership. If he would have waited another 4 or 8 years and then won the election, we all likely would have been better off, supporters of his and detractors alike.

When he gets our history wrong and when he apologizes for the USA's past, it has to really tick off those who have loved ones who died for our freedom. Maybe this will help us all wake up and do a better job of voting next time around.

But there is one ray of sunshine to be happy about....at least Joe Biden is not President!!!!
